Kelly Slater and Layne Beachley hold 15 world surfing titles between them, but even they were never able to pull off the feat Australian Stephanie Gilmore managed in Hawaii yesterday.

The 19 year-old from Tweed Heads became the first person -- male or female -- to win the world championship as a rookie.
