According to the North Wales Daily Post, a lone kayaker was rescued after being thrown into the sea off the North Wales coast. He used his handheld radio to call for help.

A helicopter out on a training exercise responded and pulled the man out from Smilies rock, where he had scrambled to safety after his kayak capsized.
