American climbing guides Seth Hobby and John Kear have pioneered two new routes in Nepal. Their first climb was a second ascent of Kyajo Ri via a new route amd their second was of the East Face of Cholatse. According to Climbing.com, Hobby and Kear tackled Kyajo Ri first, climbing the ridge (5.9 A13), descended the Southwest Ridge and then returned to high camp. They then moved over to Cholatse, following an ice line up the East Face, climbing the new 1,800-meter route in three days (W15+ M6).
