For the first time this year, Costa Rica will be part of the Adventure Race World Series, as host of the Costa Rica Adventure Race to be held August 20 - 28th, 2010.

It will be a great event, +500km of extreme racing, in multiple disciplines like mountain biking, trekking, kayaking, ropes and even a traditional local sport as a surprise discipline. The race will cover a wide variety of landscapes, like beaches, warm ocean, dry forests, rain forests, cloud forest, volcanoes, lakes, and rivers. For family members and other fans we've planned a nice vacation package parallel to the race course so they can enjoy the beauties of Costa Rica and still be there to cheer for their favorite teams. And, even more important is the fact that race will be CO2 neutral, as the organization will compensate C02 emissions generated by air and land travel of each participant as well as all the staff vehicles.
