KRONPLATZ, Austria (Jan. 15) - Michelle Gorgone (Sudbury, MA) made her play for the 2006 U.S. Olympic Snowboarding Team finishing fourth Sunday in the final World Cup parallel giant slalom before the Olympic break. Currently Rosey Fletcher (Girdwood, AK) is the only other U.S. alpine rider to have a podium during pre-Olympic World Cup schedule.

Winning the event was Swiss riders Daniela Mueli and Philipp Schoch as the Swiss swept the top four places in the men's event.

The U.S. Olympic Snowboarding Team will be named Jan. 21 following the final stop of the Chevrolet U.S. Snowboard Grand Prix slated for Jan. 20-21 at Mountain Creek, N.J.
