Katie Hilleke launched her Boof Against the Odds tour with a third-place Steep Creek finish at the Teva Mountain Games, and Tao Berman led a Team Dagger podium sweep in the Men's Division.

New Zealand's Nikki Kelly won her fourth Women's Division title in Steep Creek, and Lizzy English took second.

Local kayaker Brad Ludden finished just behind Berman for a second-place finish, recording a time of 3:31.5 to Berman's 3:29.8.

Ludden's narrow loss was probably made easier by seeing Hilleke's strong showing. His nonprofit First Descents kayaking camp, which provides kayak trips for cancer patients, will receive half of the money Hilleke raises this summer.
