WHITEFISH, Mont. -- A new program for kids ages 8-14 has been added to Whitefish Mountain Resort for the summer. The Mountain Adventure Program (MAP) is a day camp that rotates weekly outdoor educational themes on Big Mountain such as large animals, flying animals, berries and trees, outdoor fun, and orienteering. Cost is $35 per day for participants.
Other program activities include presentations by the U.S. Forest Service Nature Center, Walk in the Treetops, fishing in the Jumping Rainbow Pond, bungee jumping, and related arts and crafts projects.
“We are excited to offer this new outdoor adventure program to local children, as well as to guests visiting the mountain from out of town,” said Lexie Persons, MAP counselor.
MAP begins July 2 and is offered Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday, as well as in conjunction with the Mountain Bike Academy on Wednesday and Friday. The camp meets from 10 a.m. - 3 p.m. with options for early drop-off and late pick-up. Participants meet at Snow Ghost Outfitters, located in the Morning Eagle lodge in the mountain village.
