PORTLAND, Maine, January 15th, 2009 The Jeep® World of Adventure Sports® (JWOAS), an action and adventure sports series, will air on Sunday, January 18th at 3:00 p.m. ET/12:00 p.m. PT. Host Pat Parnell of NBC Sports journeys to Abu Dhabi to present the opening episode of the 2009 season.

The Abu Dhabi Adventure Challenge: 36 teams from all over the world converged on the surreal landscape of Abu Dhabi to compete in the 2008 Abu Dhabi Adventure Challenge. They would cover over 361 kilometers before it was over, racing along a course that would not only test their capacity for physical and mental endurance but also take them on a journey of discovery, as they kayaked, biked and trekked across some of Arabia's most remarkable and treasured natural attractions
Surfing: Yakutat Bay, Alaska: JWOAS follows along with Jamie Sterling, Raimana Van Bastolaer, Maya Gabiera, Carlos Burle and Jamie Mitchell as they head to the amazing waters of Alaska for a surf trip 12 years in the making that could break new ground for tow-in surfing.
TGR: Sage Cattabriga-Alosa Profile: Teton Gravity Research takes an in-depth look at the storied career of Sage Cattabriga-Alosa, one of the world's most talented skiers. From humble beginnings in Alta, Wyoming, Sage's love of skiing took him from washing dishes at a ski resort to being one of TGR's most featured athletes and a worldwide icon for the sport. This segment will dive into Sage's rise to prominence and follow him around the world as he pushes the sport of skiing to new levels.
Grand Canyon Expedition: JWOAS heads to the Grand Canyon with adventurers Tommy Caldwell, Beth Rodden and Chris McNamara as they climb, base jump and raft through some of the most dangerous corners of the magnificent landmark.
