Team MOMAR wins Fall BEAST Race
Race successful, despite weather-related course changes

North Bend, WA, December 3rd--The Canadians of team MOMAR (Mind Over Mountain), Gary Robbins and Todd Nowack, battled it out with Kevin Reinkensmeier, Dean Burton and Glen Rogers from Team Recycled Cycles the entire race. The lead changed hands several times, but after an adventurous, ultimately unsuccessful bushwhacking attempt by Recycled Cycles, MOMAR moved out front and captured the win.

The race wrapped up the second successful season of the BEAST (Barebones Evening Adventure Sprint Tournament) Series and was the 10th BEAST event ever held.

The race was held at Rattlesnake Lake in North Bend, WA. A variety of racers from all over the northwest and Canada attended. Race Director Eric Bone had to make multiple last minute course changes after severe rain and a snow-storm obliterated the original race course. Despite the last minute re-design, racers enjoyed a great course along the Snoqualmie Valley Trail system with many transitions between bikes and fee. Freezing temperatures tested the racers physically and mentally.

Another unique feature of the Fall BEAST race is the option for solo or two person teams to sign up for a lottery. Racers are paired into "lottery" teams and end up teammates that are often strangers. MPGear.com, in collaboration with Innov8 shoes, sponsored the Lottery option and raffled off Innov8 racing shoes to one of the Lottery Team.
